A slice of Swedish Hospitality- Marie and Sven-Åke
Welcome to a Swedish home, to meet Marie and Sven Åke. We live in a nice house in "Kulltorp", a part of Kristianstad situated in the middle of "Vattenriket" (The Wetland).
A Slice of Swedish Hospitality offers visitors a unique chance to discover the cozy,
everyday but still exotic side of Sweden by having dinner with a local family. You can’t get much closer to us Swedes than that!
Lunch, a Swedish Fika, coffe break, or supper in a private home will give you a chance to sample some Swedish delicacies, depending on the season and your host’s own preferences in the kitchen, and have a chat about everyday life. You can ask about culture and traditions, find out about local stories and anecdotes or get insider tips on what to see or where to shop. Without question the most authentic way of experiencing the most southern part of Sweden called Skåne.
We are in our 60ties and our interests are nature, gardening and cooking of course. We also like to travel a lot. Marie is retired from a long working life at IKEA in Älmhult, Småland, and Sven Åke is still working part time with properties.
We like to cook and eat fresh and nourishing food. On our table you can find fish, lamb, chicken, vegetables and fruits, even strawberries from our garden.
But we like all kinds of food, as long as it is well prepared. In the summer we spend a lot of time in our garden with foods from the barbeque.
If you prefer lunch or a classical "Swedish fika", you are welcome as well.
We speak Swedish and English. Feel welcome to us, we like to meet new people!
We welcome up to 4 guests at a time.
